One of the guys in the study room was going on about how his calculator can solve Integrals and provides him the periodic table and physics constants and all I could think and say was “weeaaaaaaaak” @emdubyoo
to people who rely on calculators instead of actually learning how to do the math:
ONLY THOSE WHO STRUGGLE WILL GROW STRONGER AND SURVIVE. If this guy is a STEM major then this makes me sad. Admittedly if he’s doing majorly complicated calculations then tools like Mathematica or Wolfram Alpha or other computational programs are useful, but over-reliance on calculators takes away from the experience of learning how to work out problems. Once he gets into higher-level math it’s not going to be enough to press a button for the answer. Hand calculations are important, like 20-step Newton’s approximations. Too real. We should visit Mr. Koyfman.
Meanwhile in this corner: derive ALL of the equations from first principles by hand
20 step is too real, and yeah he is ;_;
In this corner we have surface integrals and Stoke’s Theorem.
yes reunion pls.

DID I JUST GET FUCKING KISSED BY thE MOST ADORABLE FUCKING POKEMON IN EXISTENCe?
The expressions of the people that realized I’ve been surviving all quarter without a graphing calculator. Pricelessssss
